The White LG KP501 Cookie Phone Joins the LG Cookie Black, Pink and Silver Editions

The LG KP500 is also known as the LG Cookie. This handset boasts of a powerful feature set that is a great bargain considering that the phone has a low price.

Originally released in black the LG Cookie was subsiquently launched in further pink and silver coloured casings, but now there is a forth colour to add to the range in the form of the LG KP501 White edition.

This latest addition to the budget touch screen range offers exactly the same features, design and technology found in the other three models, it simply exchanges the outer casing colour for a new cool white finish.

Hardware

The LG KP501 Cookie is available in several attractive hues like Black, Vandyke brown, Anodizing Silver, Elegant gold and Delicious white. It is a small, compact phone with vital statistics of 106.5 x 55.4 x 11.9 mm. It is extremely light weight at 89 grams. It has a TFT resistive touch screen that supports 256 K colors and has a resolution of 240X400 pixels. Applications

The LG Cookie phone enhances your internet experience with wap 2 technology and EDGE technologies. It has no 3G and Wi Fi facility which is a major drawback.

HTC Touch 2 Silver

The Touch 2 is a new Windows Mobile touch screen handset from HTC. Smaller than the majority of smartphones on the market, the Touch 2 Silver hopes that its lack of size does not compromise the host of features on offer.

The handset measures in at 104×55x12.9mm and weights in at just 110g, which is around 20g lighter than a lot of the smartphones we have looked at previously. The device itself features a 2.8″ resistive touch screen showing a QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) resolution. Although it is smaller than many other touch screens, it remains sensitive and very responsive. Perhaps the one flaw with the screen is the fact that it is a resistive screen rather than a capacitive one, meaning a level of pressure needs to be applied in order for the device to respond.

The camera function on the Touch 2 Silver is a 3.2 mega pixel fixed focus affair. Outdoor daylight photos seem reasonable enough, however the cameras inadequacies begin to show on indoor or low light shots. The device has 512MB of internal memory, fairly small for a host of multimedia usage so it would be worth considering the purchase of a larger capacity microSD card.

Perhaps the most attractive feature of the HTC Touch 2 is the fact that it operates on the Windows Mobile 6.5 platform. The result of this for the user is a quick, comprehendible and easily operated interface. A honeycomb grid layout means that applications are easily viewed. A scrolling shortcut bar located at the bottom of the screen means the more common functions such as contacts and messaging are easily accessible.

You could imagine that with just 2.8″ of touch screen and no separate keyboard that typing could be a bit of a chore. However HTC have addressed this with some quirky tricks. You can hold down a key in order to choose a number or symbol, handy for inputting passwords which are often a mix of characters. Do the CECT Touch Screen Phones Work on Boost Mobile Unlimited Or Other Unlimited Plans?

I’m beginning to hear this question a lot. As more and more cell phone providers roll out their all inclusive, all in one, or unlimited plans, I’m starting to be asked which of these plans you can pair the iPhone clones with. In the following article, I’ll answer the question and will take a look at some of the unlimited plans that will work with these phones.

Boost Mobile And CECT Phones: It probably goes without saying that people who are interested in the clones are also interested in saving money. A big draw to these little knock offs is that you get the features without the commitment and the price. You don’t need a network contract to use them. But, what you are going to need is a GSM sim card. That’s why boost mobile does not work with these phones. This network operates mostly using CDMA technology rather than GSM. So, while the $50 all inclusive plan is a reasonable one, it’s not going to be applicable here. However, there are many other options which will work, which I’ll discuss below. (Note: I’m only going to be discussing contract free options, as I want to compare apples to apples here.)

GoPhone’s And T Mobile’s Contract Free Unlimited Plans With Popular iPhone Clones Like The SciPhone And The i9: Boost Mobile is not the only contract free carrier to offer unlimited minutes and texts. Both AT&T and T Mobile have commitment free options. I’ll start with GoPhone by AT&T. As of this writing, they offer a $60 unlimited talk and text. This is pretty reasonable. But, I can tell you from some of the questions which I receive that, even though this plan is without a contract, people sometimes pay for services that they don’t use.

$50 – $60 per month for unlimited usage is a reasonably good deal. But, ask yourself if you really need unlimited minutes, especially in terms of talk time. So many of us text today. You can get unlimited texts and messaging with this plan for only $19.99 per month. (You can get 1,000 texts for only $9.99.)

Keep in mind that this plan often allows talk to other AT&T or GoPhone users without counting your minutes. So, if your friends or family uses this plan also, you may use less minutes than you think. Also, if you’re willing to talk nights and weekends (and text during the day) you can get these time frames in unlimited terms for $19.99. AT&T also rolls over your unused minutes as long as you add onto the account before the minutes expire. If you’re using talk minutes on top of usage with other AT&T customers, you can chose from.10 per minute plus $1 per day on days you use the phone or.25 per minute. (They also offer a $3 per day unlimited talk only on days you use the phone. This can make a lot of sense if you don’t talk every day.) Web usage ranges from $4.99 to $19.99, depending on how much you use.

It makes a lot of sense to look at last month’s phone usage and see how many messaging and talk minutes you actually used. Many people will see that they are not using enough to make unlimited usage worth it. Many times, you will get by much cheaper buying a text package and paying for talk as you use it. Even if you add up everything, it will often be less than $50.

T Mobile’s Flex plan is also without a contract. (Some of the contract plan’s work out to be a little cheaper, but again I’m comparing plans without the commitment.) The flex plan offers a $69.99 unlimited plan. But again, it’s going to make sense to look at your usage. You get free nights and weekends with this flex plan. And, 1000 minutes of talk and 1000 texts is $49.99. Again, it really does depend on what you use and when. If you use less than 1,000, then unlimited doesn’t make much sense.

One more option (which is usually even cheaper) is the prepaid all inclusive sim cards. These often last one month and give you unlimited everything (talk, text, data.) The upside is that this is often much cheaper than any of the national plans. The downside is that they expire and your phone number will change. However, since you have use of two sim slots, you can keep one sim for receiving calls and texts and another (cheaper one) for sending them. This means you have one constant phone number so you don’t have to worry about missing calls.
